Government says former Volkswagen plant to be relaunched in 2023

KUBINKA, Moscow Region, Aug 15 (PRIME) -- Former plant of Volkswagen in Kaluga can start producing cars in 2023, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said on Tuesday on the sidelines of the forum Army-2023.

"I think this can happen until the end of the year," Manturov said, referring to the restart of manufacturing at the former Volkswagen plant sold to businessman Andrei Pavlovich in May.

Manturov also said that Avtodom could start making cars on the former plant of Mercedes-Benz in the Moscow Region with new partners in 2024.

"I hope that the colleagues will finalize their agreements with industrial partners and will launch manufacturing next year," he said.
